CSU turns
20 this year!

In honor of our 20th Anniversary, we've set a goal to raise $400,000 by the end of 2026 to build on our current momentum, expand our outreach, and make lasting progress toward a sustainable future for the place we all call home.

Conserve Southwest Utah owes its start to a small group of engaged citizens who were seeking solutions to a pressing problem: How to balance conservation with growth.

Over the past 20 years, we've become a trusted, non-partisan voice working toward that same cause: growing in a way that protects the lands, water and quality of life that drew so many people here in the first place.

The stakes have never been higher.

Today, Washington County faces unprecedented water shortages, human-caused wildfires, and shrinking habitats for native plants and species. As a community, we are also grappling with the need for better transportation alternatives and affordable housing.

Conserve Southwest Utah has a vision for the future of this region that prioritizes environmental and community well-being, even when—especially when—it's hard. Our role as advocates has put us in tough situations and taught us to listen first, build common ground, and ensure that outcomes reflect local needs and values.

You know this. You rely on us to show up where state and federal decisions are made, cut through the rhetoric, speak truth to power, and bring information to you when it matters most. This work isn't done in a day. It's done by showing up—again and again—to protect what we love about this place.

And, here’s the truth: we can’t do this without you

What can you expect from Conserve Southwest Utah in the future?

  • Promoting a culture of water conservation that helps our community understand, value, and actively protect the Virgin River Watershed.

  • Advocating for the protection of public lands, and educating the public about what we can do to keep them accessible for generations to come.

  • Empowering locals to give back to the land through our growing volunteer program.

  • Bringing an informed voice of reason to transportation and land-use planning discussions that shape the future of our community.

Every hour spent in a county commission meeting, every Strong Towns speaker we host, every stewardship project we do is fueled by supporters like you.

Your gift ensures we have a seat at the table when decisions about your water, your public lands, and your community's future are being made. It means we can keep building the coalitions that create solutions and the grassroots power that changes minds.

Please, donate today and help us write the next 20 years of our story—together. Thank you for believing in this work and supporting Conserve Southwest Utah.
