The House Committee on Natural Resources will be holding a Field Hearing in Cedar City on Monday, May 12th at 2:00 pm to discuss geothermal energy development in Utah. We'll be using the hearing as a chance to hold Rep. Celeste Maloy (R-UT-2) accountable for her ongoing attacks on public lands.

About The Event

Who: Anyone who loves protected public lands!

What: House Committee on Natural Resources Subcommittee Field Hearing

When: Monday, May 12th. We encourage everyone to gather at 1pm to pick up signs, pins, stickers as a way to visibly show support for public lands, and grab a seat before the hearing officially starts at 2pm.

Where: Meet at the southwest entrance of the Sharwan Student Center at Southern Utah University (351 W University Boulevard, in Cedar City, UT). See the screenshot below (look for the red pin on the map) or this GPS Pin. You will have the opportunity to enter and observe the meeting, remain outside the building to show support for public land as others enter, or a combination of both.

While the focus of this hearing is on geothermal energy (currently proposed geothermal projects in Utah don’t conflict with America’s Red Rock Wilderness Act), we’re taking this rare public…
