Tue, May 13
|BlackRocks Climbing Area
Calling physically capable volunteers to help get ahead of a growing Sahara mustard problem in the Cougar Cliffs back-country. You must register to attend because we need to hike in as a group on an undesignated route.

About The Event
Please bring anything you need for the morning in a small daypack because you will need to have both hands free for climbing in and out of the canyon. Remember your water, hat, sunscreen, gloves, snacks, TP and knee/kneeling pads, and to wear shoes with good sole traction for the climb. You may also want to bring a hand weeding tool. It is a 25-30 minute hike to and from the project site. The weather has warmed up and a lot of the mustard has started to flower or set seed. We will bag and haul out only the plants that have developed seed pods. All the rest can be left on the ground to dry out. CSU will have garbage bags for us. Before we leave the work site, we will brush down our pants, shoes and daypacks to prevent transporting any mustard seeds out of the infested area.
