About The Event

We will be joining forces with Utah Tech University students to assist the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (UDWR) to plant willow whips along a portion of the Virgin River in Hurricane, UT to improve habitat and curtail erosion.


Workers must meet at the UDWR field office parking lot (451 SR-318, Hurricane, UT 84737) by Quail Creek State Park no later than 9 am to carpool and gain access to the restricted access work site.  Bring/wear rubber boots or hip waders and gloves that can get muddy and wet.  Dress in layers due to the chill near the water.  This project is not suitable for young children due to the proximity to flowing water.
