About The Event
In collaboration with our local BLM office, CSU is launching our Adopt-a-Plot program to provide an easy way for individuals and families to get involved in ecosystem restoration on a small scale. We are recruiting individuals, families or organizations who would like to “adopt” a plot of about 40 plants to provide a small level of care that will ensure the greatest potential for survival. Once you sign up, we will get in contact to give more details and answer your questions but here’s a basic overview:
All of the plants are already protected with a poultry wire cage to prevent hungry ground squirrels and rabbits from eating them until they are larger. Your responsibilities as an Adopt-a-Plot Steward:
Check on your plants every 2-4 weeks
Re-anchor any cages that have come loose with a hammer
Repair any soil burrowing with a garden trowel to keep herbivores out
