About The Event

We will be assisting the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (UDWR) to scout an area along the Virgin River in Hurricane where non-native salt-cedar/tamarisk has previously been removed.  Workers must meet at the UDWR field office parking lot (451 SR-318, Hurricane, UT 84737) by Quail Creek State Park no later than 9 am to carpool and gain access to the restricted access work site.

We will use pruners to cut resprouts and a spray bottle of herbicide to treat the fresh cuts to kill the rest of the exotic plants. Wear footwear that could get muddy and work gloves for pruners, rubber gloves for potential overspray protection.  This project is not suitable for young children due to the proximity to flowing water and proximity to herbicide spray.
